What we collect
Account data: name, email, password (stored only as a secure hash), country, and optionally a photo, headline, bio, rate, skills, languages and portfolio.
Activity on the site: jobs, proposals, contracts, payment stages and their confirmations, messages, files, reviews, reports and disputes.
Technical data: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, your IP address and basic request logs used for security and to fix problems.
Why we use it
To run the marketplace: show jobs and profiles, deliver messages, keep project records and send notifications.
To keep people safe: detect spam and scams, review reports and disputes, apply strikes, and stop banned users from returning (we keep a one-way hash of banned email addresses).
To improve SideJobWorks and, with ads, to keep it free.
What's public
Your public profile (name, photo, headline, country, skills, portfolio, ratings, reviews and payment record) and the jobs you post are visible to everyone and may appear in search engines. Messages, files in projects and dispute details are only visible to the people in that project and to our team when reviewing a report or dispute.
Cookies and ads
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use it for advertising.
Ads are provided by Google AdSense, which may use cookies to show and measure ads. Where the law requires it, we'll ask for your consent first. You can learn more and opt out of personalised ads at adssettings.google.com.
Who we share it with
Service providers that run the site for us: Cloudflare (hosting, database and file storage), an email delivery provider for notifications, and Google for ads. They process data on our behalf.
Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect someone's safety.
We don't sell your personal data.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account is open. Project records (contracts, stages, messages and the activity log) are kept for as long as they may be needed as evidence, and at least while the other party's account exists. Request logs are kept for a short period.
Your rights
You can view and edit your profile at any time in Settings. You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or account deletion by writing to support@sidejob.works. Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP) and, where it applies, the GDPR give you these rights.
Security
Passwords are hashed, sessions use secure HTTP-only cookies, and private files are only served to people with access to them. No system is perfect; tell us about any security issue at the address below.
Children
SideJobWorks is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
